About This Journey
The drive from Tashkent to Bukhara is the longest of the classic Silk Road transfers, covering around 450 km and taking approximately 6 hours by private car. Bukhara’s old town — with its Kalyan Minaret, Lyab-i Hauz square and centuries-old trading domes — is one of the best-preserved medieval city centers in Central Asia, and arriving by private transfer means you step straight from the car into the heart of the old city rather than a train station on the outskirts.
Because of the distance, this route is often combined with a stop in Samarkand, roughly at the halfway point. Many of our guests choose to spend a night in Samarkand and continue to Bukhara the next day, effectively turning one long transfer into two shorter, more enjoyable legs of a Silk Road circuit. If you’d prefer to travel straight through, our drivers will plan a comfortable rest stop along the M37 highway for food and a short break.
As with all of our routes, the price is fixed and agreed before you set off — whether the journey takes 5.5 hours or stretches longer due to traffic or weather, you pay the quoted price and nothing more. Three vehicle tiers are available: an Economy Sedan for up to 3 passengers, a Comfort SUV with extra legroom and luggage space for up to 4, and a VIP Minivan for groups of up to 6 passengers and 6 suitcases — a popular choice for families and small groups touring together.
Drivers on this route are experienced with long-distance travel and speak English, so you can relax, sleep, or chat about the sights ahead. If you’re flying into Tashkent International Airport, we can start your Bukhara transfer directly from arrivals — just share your flight number and we’ll track it, adjusting your pickup time automatically if your flight is delayed.
To book, send your travel date, preferred pickup location (hotel or airport) and passenger count via WhatsApp or the form on this page. We’ll confirm your driver and vehicle promptly, and you can cancel free of charge up to 24 hours before pickup if your plans change.
